Health and Safety

Health & Safety is of prime importance to Secure Doors Group. We aim to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of our employees while they are at work and of others who may be affected by our undertakings, and compliance with all the relevant legislation.

We will take all reasonable steps to implement, monitor and maintain safe plant, substances, equipment, working environments and working practices within our organisation. We will continuously improve our management systems, in order to protect employees and others from risks to their health, safety and welfare whilst engaged in work related activities. We recognise that safety is the responsibility of everyone and is not just a function of management. Employees will have specific duties and responsibilities to comply with the letter and spirit of our Health and Safety Policy. Employees have specific responsibilities to take reasonable care of themselves and others that could be affected by their activities and to co-operate to achieve the standards required.

Secure Doors Group are proud to have achieved a standard that has received a ‘Certificate of Accreditation’ from The Contractors Health & Safety assessment Scheme (CHAS) having demonstrated compliance with and sound management of current basic health and safety legislation.

Secure Doors Group are pleased to list the following Engineer Qualifications and Creditations:

   All engineers and site visiting personnel are all CRB checked. This service enables organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors to make safer recruitment decisions by identifying candidates who may be unsuitable for certain work, especially that involve children or vulnerable adults.

   All engineers have current Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards. CSCS was set up to help the construction industry to improve quality and reduce accidents. CSCS cards are increasingly demanded as proof of occupational competence by contractors, public and private clients and others.

   All engineers have current IPAF Licences. The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) Operator Licence is for personnel who operates scissor lifts, telescopic and articulating booms, vertical platforms, van mounted platforms, truck mounted platforms and telehandlers with integrated controls.

   All engineers have completed and hold a current certificate for Basic First Aid awarded by the British Red Cross.

   A ‘Manual Handling’ Certificate was awarded to all engineers after taking this course with the British Red Cross.

   All engineers have completed a ‘Working Safely’ course and received the certificate awarded by the ‘Institution of Occupational Safety and Health’ (IOSH).

   All engineers hold current certificates in training for completion of the course for ‘Inspection, Erection and Dismantling of Pre-Fabricated Aluminium Scaffolding and Towers.

   All engineers hold current certificates in training for completion of the course in ‘Working at Heights’ including ‘Fitting of Harnesses’, ‘Hierachy of Controls’, and ‘Risk Assessment approach to all Work at Heights’.

   All engineers hold a current ‘Safe And Fuel Efficient Driving’ Certificate after completing a assessment driving course.
