Get Your Free Quote Installation of High-Performance Sectional Overhead Doors for a Busy Coventry Dealership
Project Overview
SDG Access was appointed by a busy car dealership in Coventry to install two new overhead sectional doors as part of an upgrade to their workshop and smart repair facilities.
The project involved replacing an existing door and installing a brand-new door to a newly created repair bay, improving both functionality and workflow across the site.

Our Solution
Existing Workshop Door Installation
Our engineers attended site to remove and responsibly dispose of the existing door before installing a new, high-performance overhead sectional door.
The installation included:
- 3-phase electrically operated insulated sectional door
- GFA direct drive motor with hand chain emergency override
- GFA TS971 control panel with 2 radar activation sensors
- Full safety systems in line with current regulations
- 40mm insulated panels with plastisol coating (RAL 9006)
- Integrated row of vision windows for improved visibility
- Full testing, commissioning, and site clean-up
Smart Repair Door Installation
We also installed a second sectional door to a newly created opening within the dealership’s smart repair area.
This installation featured:
- 3-phase electrically operated insulated sectional door
- GFA direct drive motor with manual override
- GFA TS971 control panel with 2 Falcon activation sensors
- Full regulatory-compliant safety devices
- 40mm insulated panels with plastisol coating
- Vision window row to maximise light and visibility
- Full testing, commissioning, and clean handover
Installation Process
To ensure safe and efficient completion, a platform scissor lift was delivered to site ahead of installation. All works were carried out by our experienced team, with strict adherence to health and safety standards and minimal disruption to the dealership’s day-to-day operations.
A 3-phase 16amp 5-pin power supply was required within 1 metre of each door to enable installation and commissioning.

The dealership now benefits from two fully automated, high-performance sectional doors that enhance workshop efficiency and support a streamlined repair process. Both the main workshop and smart repair bay are now equipped with reliable, modern access solutions designed for long-term use.
